Hospice Sabbath

During Hospice and Palliative Care Month every November, the 3rd Sunday is set aside as Hospice Sabbath. This is a day of remembrance for all congregations to honor those who have passed away throughout the year in their church. Richmond County Hospice offers a white rose for the church and inserts for the bulletin. Throughout Richmond County there are 50-60 churches that participate in this program.

Upcoming Event: November 18, 2018

If you would like a white Rose for your place of worship, please contact Chris Thornton, Chaplin.

Forever Tree

This program is held during the Christmas Season to assist with the holiday grief associated with loss. Two small services are held, one at our Richmond County Hospice campus, and the other at Anson Community Hospice campus. These are to honor or remember those who have passed away, call attention to their special life, and bring them into the holiday season. Lights can be purchased not only in memory of the deceased love ones, but also to honor someone special to them. Names are placed on a “Forever Tree” at the event and the trees remain lit throughout the holiday season. Appetizers and desserts are served for all participants.

Upcoming Event:

RICHMOND CAMPUS FOREVER TREE: November 29, 2018 6pm (in front of Administration Building grounds)

ANSON CAMPUS FOREVER TREE: December 6, 2018 6pm (at Leavitt Funeral Home).

Volunteer Awards Banquet

Our hospice matches a minimum of 5.0% of paid clinical hours with volunteer hours to assist with our mission to support our patients and our program as a whole. The volunteer hours for the Fiscal Year 2017 were 5,296.75 hours resulting in a savings of almost $70,000. Yearly, we give back by providing an appreciation banquet for all of the volunteers as a thank you for the gift of their time, experience, and of themselves.

Taste of the Sandhills/Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser

Did you know the average Non-profit hospice relies on 11% of their operating funds to come from donations/grants/fundraising? The ability to provide benevolent care, serves as the motivation for this now annual fundraiser. This event allows us to provide care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. In the last two years we provided $118,000 in benevolent care to patients that needed end of life care.

Upcoming Event: September 14th, 2019
