The Forever Tree
The Christmas season can be beautiful — but for those who are grieving, it can also be one of the most tender times of the year. Traditions feel different. Empty chairs feel heavier. Memories feel closer.
Each year, during the Christmas season, we host our Holiday Remembrance Program to walk gently alongside families carrying loss. This sacred gathering offers a space to pause, to remember, and to honor the lives that continue to shape our hearts.
We hold two intimate services — one at our Richmond County Hospice campus and one at our Anson Community Hospice campus. During these evenings, we speak the names of those we love, reflect on their unique lives, and symbolically bring them into the light of the season.
Participants may purchase a light in memory of a loved one who has passed or in honor of someone who holds a special place in their heart. Each name is placed on our “Forever Tree,” and the trees remain illuminated throughout the holiday season — glowing reminders that love does not end.
After the service, guests are invited to gather for fellowship, with light appetizers and desserts served. It is often in these quiet conversations that comfort is found — in knowing you are not alone in your grief.
Our Holiday Remembrance Program is more than an event. It is a time of hope, reflection, and community — a gentle reminder that even in sorrow, there is light.
